Hey Friends,
Music is in motion again. A few things are happening and the creative flow is…well, flowing.
For those in Kentucky I am now in regular rotation at JP’s Bar & Grill in Paducah. I have played twice and have two more dates scheduled so far, the 18th and 28th of this month. I play from 6:30 – 9:30 so come grab dinner and enjoy some music.
There is more I’ll share soon but my real reason for posting now is this:
Tonight I wrote a new song that I want to share in its demo stage.
Nuthin Important to Say

7/11/2016
Your peace is fragile, yes, I know
don’t go to deep don’t rock the boat
don’t you worry it’ll be great
I aint got nuthin important to say
for a change
and everything I’ve come to see
and everything I’m lettin go
and everything I wanna say
and everything I really feel
just gets
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
I’ll keep the peace I’ll walk the line
I’ll bite my lip one more time
I’ll count to ten I’ll practice zen
I aint got nuthin important to say
for a change
and everything I’ve come to see
and everything I’m lettin go
and everything I wanna say
and everything I really feel
just gets
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
Trunk and tusk in the room
we’ll laugh it off like we do
awkward silence in an easy chair
nervous fingers runnin through your hair
I’ll segue out it’s gettin late
I aint got nuthin important to say
for a change
and everything you fear to see
and everything you can’t let go
and everything you wanna say
and everything you really feel
just gets
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
pushed down, pushed down, pushed down
shhhh
Your peace is fragile, yes, I know
*Disclaimer
The line, “I’ll practice Zen” is a tongue in cheek way of getting the point across. I have no experience with Zen. Simply referencing common sense ways to calm oneself or relieve frustration without all the hocus pocus.
It’s a song.
